Richard Graffam is a Capital Member in the Litigation Practice Group where he has worked since 1990.

Practice Areas

Mr. Graffam's practice includes general civil and commercial litigation and consulting, including products liability, maritime casualties and distributor and franchise law both in state and federal courts.

Education

He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut. Prior to joining McConnell Valdés, Mr. Graffam served as a law clerk to United States District Court, Judge Raymond L. Acosta in the District of Puerto Rico.

He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, the United States Supreme Court, the District of Columbia and the State of Connecticut.

Memberships

Mr. Graffam has served on the Executive Boards, both nationally and locally, of the Federal Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association and the Inter-American Bar Association and remains active in all three organizations. He is also a Procter in the Maritime Law Association.
